Sarah Sofia

Sarah Sofia is a graduate student in mechanical engineering who joined the PV Lab in September 2014. She is investigating silicon-based multijunction solar cells, an approach to exceed the Shockley-Queisser efficiency limit.  She is also working on developing integrated, solar-powered systems and multijunction solar cell cost modelling. She obtained her BS in Physics and Astronomy at Haverford College in 2014. During her undergrad career, she conducted research in lasers, astronomy, and quantum computing, and captained her varsity fencing team.
