Alex Polizzotti

Alex Polizzotti graduated in 2011 from Pomona College, where he received a Bachelor’s in Chemistry after investigating Dye-Sensitized Photovoltaics and applications for photoactive conductive polymers as hole transport layers in these devices. Before joining the MIT Mechanical Engineering department, Alex held a fellowship for two years at the Department of Energy’s SunShot program, where he investigated key challenges Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) photovoltaics. Alex has joined the SnS team, and expects to focus primarily on characterizing and manipulating the presence of efficiency-limiting crystallographic defects in SnS thin-films.
