Jose Dario Perea Ospina

Jose Dario Perea Ospina (CV) was raised in Cali, Colombia, and grew up with passion for science and music. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher in MIT PV Lab. His ongoing research focuses on the physics understanding and machine learning for the determination of the performance of organic and perovskites solar cells. Before joining the lab, he received a Bachelor and a Master in physics in Universidad del Valle Cali Colombia. After his Master, he worked as a physics lecture in Universidad del Valle and Universidad Autonoma de Occidente. Subsequently, he completed a Ph.D. in materials science at the Friedrich Alexander Universität in Germany under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Christoph J. Brabec. His thesis title was ”Solubility and Miscibility of Organic Semiconductors for Efficient and Stable Organic Solar Cells Investigated via Machine Learning and Quantum Chemistry Methods”. Outside the lab, his interests include his solar building integration company SunMer Solutions S.A.S, working for the scientific social impact factor in Colombia with Del Laboratorio al Campo, playing the violin, learning languages, and reading literature.
