Sarah Wieghold

Dr. Sarah Wieghold is a postdoctoral researcher and joined the group in October 2016. She is a member of the silicon team with a special focus on characterization techniques. She studied Chemistry at the University of Ulm (Germany) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM). She received her Ph.D. from TUM with the topic: “scanning tunneling microscopic studies of nanostructures at the solid-liquid interface”. Her accomplishments include studies of self-assembled networks with atomically-precise deposition on a graphene-diamond interface for photovoltaics. As a visiting student at the University of Illinois, she gained insights into absorption properties and plasmonic activation of molecules for (opto)electronic devices.
